A fireplace surround has to look effortless while living next to fire. We select material thicknesses and standoffs for the heat profile of your firebox, use finishes rated for the temperatures they’ll see, and coordinate clearances with your fireplace installer or builder so the finished work meets manufacturer requirements.

We template on site, design around your firebox and wall, and fabricate in the shop while your wall is prepared. Installation typically takes a day.

- Custom metal surrounds are priced by coverage area, material, and patina work; fire screens start lower. We quote after templating your fireplace — a one-hour visit.
- Will blackened steel discolor near the fire?
- Finishes are chosen for the heat they’ll actually see. With correct standoffs and a properly rated finish, a blackened steel surround holds its color; directly exposed elements like screens develop character with use, which most clients consider the point. We’ll show you samples of both aged and new finishes.
- Can you work over my existing stone or brick?
- Usually, yes. We regularly clad over existing masonry and drywall, using concealed mounting systems — which means a dated 1990s fireplace can be transformed without demolition.
